A terroir with a story

It was established more than 100 years ago and has continued to be cultivated by the Bucchi family since 1928. The wine enjoyed a good reputation even beyond the Cagli area.

Originally, the vineyard consisted of two parts:

  • In the upper part, mainly Sangiovese, Barbera, Petrignone and Lacrima were grown, with various local red varieties in between.
  • The lower part was mainly reserved for white grape varieties: Bianchello, Malvasia, and others.

Winemaking

Half of the production is aged in stainless steel tanks, while the other half is aged in French oak barrels for at least 6 months, giving the wine a particularly complex structure. All of this takes place under the expert guidance of Giancarlo Sorvechia and his son David.

From 2020 to 2023, several hectares were planted with different grape varieties: Sauvignon Rosso, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Incrocio Bruni, but mainly Sangiovese Grosso VCR5.

All are treated with the same care, and we hope they will contribute to: a bright future for the
“Vini VOLTIGE”.

Our Sangiovese Grosso red wine offers rich notes of cherry and plum. A full body and a smooth finish make it ideal with grilled meats and pasta dishes.
